Vancouver (vænˈkuːvər) is a major city in western Canada, located in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia. The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) research group of the British publication The Economist awarded Vancouver the title of "the best city in the world" three times.

More than 2.5 million people live in the Greater Vancouver agglomeration - this is the third largest agglomeration in Canada. Vancouver is the most ethnically and linguistically diverse city in the country, with 52% of its residents reporting a language other than English as their first language. In July and August, the maximum daily temperature averages 22°C, sometimes reaching up to 30°C. Temperatures in Vancouver drop below 0°C on average 46 days a year, and below -10°C on two days a year. On average, 4.5 days a year the temperature remains below zero Celsius and during the day.
